Advantages of cable pull through workouts
There are many reasons to work out with a cable pull. One of them is the great variety of exercises. A cable pull enables you to train all the muscles of your body in a functional way. The varied training offers you great freedom of movement without having to stabilise the training weights freely in the room. This makes working out with a cable pull very safe. The guided weights allow you to push your limits without risk.
Thanks to carabiner clips, which can be adjusted in height over several levels on most models, you can perform numerous exercises for all muscle groups. By attaching other handles or pulling aids to the cable pull, the workout becomes even more varied.
You can work out on one or both sides of a cable pull. Because of this feature, cable pulls are often used to eliminate muscular imbalances. When exercising with the cable pull, the core muscles must be tensed in order to maintain the correct training posture. This makes training with the cable pull a highly effective workout both for the abdomen and the lower back.
How does a cable pull work?
A cable pull consists of at least one tower with a weight block. The weight block is connected to one or more rollers that transfer the weight to the handles via a rope.
A classic cable pull has two towers that are connected to each other. As the height of the handles can be adjusted, it is possible to perform a large variety of exercises on the cable pull. In combination with a weight bench, you will achieve a particularly effective and functional whole-body workout with this fitness equipment.
3 Cable Pull Variations
- Wall-mounted cable pulls
- Free-standing single tower
- Free-standing double tower
The wall-mounted cable pull is by far the most space-saving model of all cable pulls. It usually extends only ¼ m² from the wall and thus takes up very little space.
The single free-standing tower offers a space-saving piece of fitness equipment that can be placed anywhere in the room and does not require wall mounting.
A double free-standing tower offers by far the greatest variety of exercises of all the cable pulls. The cable pull towers are usually three meters apart and are joined to each other with a connector, which usually also serves as a pull-up bar.
Even more exercise options with cable pull accessories
Many cable pulls already come with multiple handles. This makes the exercise options even more varied. In addition to the handles supplied, we also recommend the following handles:
- Tricep rope
- Lat pull-down bar
- Double handle
- Ankle strap
- Triceps biceps curl bar
- Triceps bar
- EZ bar
- Double pull-up bar
- Arm strap
